Description

Stunning views and magnificent design make you feel as if you are on vacation everyday. Floor to ceiling windows and a wrap around IPE balcony with two large decks highlight the true gem of this location, the view. This updated property was completely remodeled in 2020 and offers a modern, open feel with thoughtful touches and efficient design elements. One side of the home holds a private oasis with a primary suite, laundry, and office, while the other side welcomes friends and family to share time together. Soaring 20 foot cathedral ceilings, open kitchen with large island, and cozy wood burning fireplace will make it hard to ever leave. The entire downstairs with living, dining, kitchenette, 2 bedrooms, and full bath, can be a separate space to give family or guests their own retreat. The driveway was replaced in October 2023. The fiber optic line was installed January 2024. Located minutes from downtown Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and more, you must see this unique home.

Seller's Scoop

  • View: Seeing the mountains out the window from bed - my favorite view is when morning fog covers the valley looking like a white sea.
  • Room: The kitchen - for all the beauty of the home the kitchen is great both in organization and practical features. It is a great space for anyone who likes to cook and/or socialize while cooking. Of course, the view doesn't hurt.
  • Tree: All of them - I like the cool green of being in the woods.
  • Walk: Walking the drive is both good exercise and beautiful. And occasionally you see wildlife - from bears to turtles.
  • Hike: They are too numerous to mention but a favorite is DuPont Forest with trails to High Falls, Triple Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. The hike can be short or long and any one of the falls is beautiful.
  • Breakfast: Sunny Pointe Cafe. Be prepared to wait but it is worth it.
  • Lunch: Gypsy Queen Cuisine - all the food is good but my favorite is the Yum Yum wrap.
  • Dinner: Ukiah Japanese Smokehouse - great food and one of the best mocktails I've ever had.
  • Pub/Winery: Hillmans - its also one of my favorite places to eat. Hazy IPA and the Falafel wrap. Can't do better. I live for that.
  • Living Here Has Been: We will miss the mountains. You are in the mountains when you are in the house; you are immersed in them. In most houses, you have a view in a couple of rooms or from a deck. Here it is a panorama that surrounds you. You are at the level of the hawks as they fly back and forth. You are with the tall trees, not under them. As you walk from the bedroom into the living area or vice versa there are near views, woods views, and far views all the way to Tennessee. It is why we bought the house and renovated it. Renovation is never a good time but the end result was worth it. It is painful to leave and we only do so because of work.
